Ever think you want black hair ...THINK AGAIN!
Me n Ari went to the hair dresser today and found out just how uncooperative my crazy hair is.. Heres how the day went..
So after i finished getting ALL of my braids out (you dont even want to know about that mess), i got it washed (but before she wet it i warned my aunt about how crazy tangled it gets but she was not phased) and just as i expected *snap* my hair was one tight nappy hot mess! It was so bad that the beautician gave up and went to a different client and my Aunt (she actually not my aunt but my older second cousin but we still call her aunt) started trying to untangle my mane...heres how it went shed cold somethign out and as soon as the comb left my hair it would snap right back into its tangled state..and that supposedly NORMAL!?!
After the beautician basically quit and moved on and i was left staring at a whole head full of thick nappy tangled-so- bad-a comb-can't-run-through-it mess, i just flat out broke down crying. I had NO idea how my hair was ever going to be untangled enough so anything, even a flat iron or a blow dryer could help it..it was just horrendous.
This brings me to my thesis statment "I hate my hair." it took her over an HOUR to comb out my hair! Thank God she was able to!!! I though i was done for. So after my hair was "combed out" (it was still tangly..why? cause im black and my hair doesnt like to behave) and put itn six sections (which was a nice step up from a big tangled poof) she had to blow dry it, my aunt then took each section one by one, broke it in half the combed out that half blow dried it then combed out the other then blow dried that AND THEN blow dryed the next section..(did i mention ithere was 6! ...tierd of reading yet?)
JUST A NOTE BEFORE YOU READ OF OVER THIS SECTION JUST KNOW THAT I HAD (I am trying to get over it..) A BAD CASE OF THERMOPHOBIA WHEN IT COMES TO ANYTHING FOR STRAIGHTING MY HAIR. (so all thru this section i was wincing, tensed up, on edge, and stressed out and either A. silently crying B.catching my breath sharply every time anything hot came close to my head )
Okay next the beautician to a hot comb and combed over 16 sections about a couple times each, and then ran over those sections with a flat iron a few times. As soon as she was done with the last section of my hair she thought she was going to be done and be able to move on to hot curling but no..over the course of the 45 minuets it took to hot comb and then flat iron my hair the REST of my hair had poofed back up to as she had never done it and it was only blown out. As you could probably guessed i was MAD stressed and and hating my then puffy hair all the more. So she ran over it another time (this time with no crying i was getting better) with both the flat iron anfd the hot comb and the SAME thing happened, and she started running over it again until i was just so fed up i said" it not going to work! my hair just will not be flat!!! quit, just go ahead and hot curl my head!" so much to my dismay (they are my second worst fear after hot combs) she hot curled it.. and here i am with the finished product.
And here are some fun pics me n my sis took with our new hair...(My sister got her hair done the same day before me while i was unbraidng)
Well im exhausted im gonna post my SotD n go to bed -_-

PS: Hmm i probably should have changed my thesis statement to "my hair is a lot of work!'" ...oh well ;)
